Linda Kernstock of Sageridge Mill and Critters has over 250 alpaca that she tends and cares for. She has them sheered and creates the most beautiful felt sheets, crocheted shawls from her own spun yarn. All natural and never fades since it is not dyed except the occasional skein of yarn as seen in the basket. The light blue is a naturally dyed piece

These are a few of the new baby knits Nicole brought in last week..... always different and unique prints. Never the same. Notice the jets on the one outfit.
This is one more week of painting.....Doesn't look like much change..... but for me, it has been hours each day. I really don't have a plan. I'll just keep painting until I feel it is done. As I always say....."It's fun when it's done". It is definitely the end results that I love about this work. What keeps me going is the idea that there will be a beautiful and durable piece of functional art for someones home. These floor cloths are the ultimate in function. When properly made they will last a lifetime of traffic.
glass window streamer with an air plant just started blooming! I didn't know they changed color.....The green spikes turned pink and then this purple flower appeared.
Sold this little side table yesterday. Finished with a UV resistant high gloss exterior grade poly-urethane . It will be on a patio. I always recommend shade for a painted piece regardless of the durability of the finish since water and sun will eventually eat through anything. If in the shade, protected from the heat and rain....no problem. This mirror will be auctioned at the Dancing with the Stars benefit for the Cancer Society coming up May 12th in Buffalo. Outside dimensions 19 X 31. Beveled mirror. This mirror was found with a rough coat of paint in pale green. It has a small scratch on the mirror but look at it now.....all bright and shiny waiting for a new home. I never know what will happen once the paint brush comes out
These pics are from the kindergarten "Campers" room and the 2nd and 3rd grader "Hikers" room. All the figures....people, birds and animals are stickers. I painted the backgrounds. It was a fun project, a bit like doing the background for a disney cartoon. Lots and lots of cutting in with good "purdy" sash brushes. I almost always use a 2 1/2 inch sash....occasionally a 2 inch. Almost all of the work on these murals is done with house brushes and definitely needed two coats on everything. Just finished hanging my Blueberry mirror in the gallery. This is a very, very old beveled and hand cut mirror....must be at least 100 years old. I found it in a 2nd hand store of course, painted white and sitting on the floor. Very heavy, probably a good 20 lbs.. I started with the deep periwinkle blue ground coat.
I LOVE blueberries, must have been thinking about the coming season when I started the painting. I have broken out in hives from eating too many blueberries. If you've ever visited Michigan during blueberry season.....you know what i'm talking about. So this is my nod to all the blueberry lovers out there. Approximately 24 inches wide by 34 tall
Just got these rag bowls in by Colleen Zeglin. Her bowls are amazing and filled with details you can't see here. Each bowl has some little element of whimsy added to the design. I'm planning on putting some of these on the web store soon. I think 5 sold the first day in the gallery.....she is going to be busy!!
One more day of displaying at the gallery, this plant stand I painted. It will be up for silent auction bidding at the "Dancing with the Stars" event at Bomber Mountain Civic Center Saturday, the 23rd at 6:00 PM. Only 20.00 entry fee and catered by most of the restaurants in Buffalo.....a taste of Buffalo. Cash bar. The plant stand price was 110.00. All proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society.
