When we bought our home we didn't realize that behind all the old paper sheetrock was hewn logs everywhere and 20 foot long 2 x 12 boards on the ceiliings, which were supported by Even larger beams. The original construction was covered over by ceiling tiles and layers of bad drywall, paint and paper. After much uncovering we are finally near the end.
I will have used over 500 ft of backer rod (a foam type rope that is used to fill large gaps before caulking) and many cases of paintable caulking. I'm so grateful for my painters scaffold and lots of experience painting ceilings.
