Mittens Moisturizer
Hello, my name is Kaya Pehringer and this is my story of "Mitten's Moisturizer". I've had my goat Mitten's for almost four years now. I got her to practice goat tying, and well....now she is bigger than me. I have always showed her in the Johnson County Fair and we have even received a Grand Champion Showmanship Award!! I decided to breed her last year and she gave us TWO wonderful kids (2015) and one energetic doe kid (2016)? She was a very good milk producer, so good we had to adopt another kid. After a while I thought those three babies could share her milk. I learned that you can make lots of things with goat milk. You can make soap, cheese, lotion and even caramel for your ice cream. I decided to make lotion because it sounded fun, but that caramel sure sounds yummy also!!
I entered my goat lotion into the Johnson County Fair and they said I was going to the Wyoming State Fair with It!! They even gave me a Grand Champion Ribbon for Judge's Pick in my division! At State Fair my project got a First Place Award!! I was so happy!!
I really enjoy making my lotion! I've learned a lot from the process. From the cleaning and care of the goats, to the birthing process, and to the managing of a new business.
So, I hope you enjoy this lotion as much as I enjoy making it!!

Why is Mitten's milk so good for you?
- Her milk makes the lotion soft and silky because of the natural cream.
- Goat milk lotion is full of minerals and vitamins! It has lots of protein, fat, iron, vitamin A, B6, B12, C, D, E and more.
- Vitamin A: some medical studies have shown that lotions made with Vitamin A help reduce wrinkles, control acne, and provide psoriasis relief!
- The proteins and fatty acids in goat milk are smaller and shorter than cow's milk, which makes it easier for the skin to absorb. Meaning you don't have to apply it so often.
- It contains lactic acid, which helps get rid of dead skin cells! YUCK! With those little things out of the way, your skin will look younger and smoother!
- Lactic and fat acid in Mitten's milk can soothe the itching caused by sunburns and dry skin. It can help heal the skin faster and reduce scarring because it contains Vitamin E
- Her milk has a low pH, close to human skin pH. This allows the nutrients to absorb better and prevents dryness and other irritating skin reactions.
