Poppy's Daughter Jewelry

Picture
I'm a native of Wyoming and currently live in Torrington, Wyoming. I've always loved making things whether it is cooking, rubber stamping or handmade papers, but my real passion is creating one of kind pieces of jewelry.  I love taking vintage items and repurposing them into current jewelry. I use vintage steel cut shoe buckles that were made in France during the Victorian Era and attach them to leather cuffs.  I also like to repurpose vintage western belts that I've painted and affixed a vintage brooch or watch face.  I like wide bracelets that can be worn with everyday outfits. Dainty really isn't my style, so all of my jewelry is pretty sturdy with a sparkle here and there.

In the last few years I've taken up bead work on an adjustable loom my husband made for me. Now I can make bracelets or bead work long enough to make hat bands.  I love incorporating anything Wyoming into my designs, such as a sterling silver or pewter button horse or arrowhead on my five row beaded bracelets. My bead loom designs feature the intense stare of an owl, wolf, wildcat, the silhouette of a buffalo or the Wyoming bronco rider.   I also love our country and feel we're so blessed to live here so I'll use these images with our flag's colors of red, white and blue.
