Fred Cutt Silversmith
Fred Cutt has been a lifelong rancher outside of Ten Sleep on the western edge of the Big Horn mountains. When he has spare time he goes to his work bench and creates beautiful jewelry using sterling and fine silver, copper and gold.
Fred lived with the Navajo native Americans for over a year back in the 1970's. This is where he first learned silver work. Starting with sand casting techniques. He continued to have a relationship with his friends from the southern areas where turquoise is harvested.
Fred is known also for his work in designing and finishing settings for elk ivory as well as his signature fine silver feather creations which are used in his designs.
With his return to his ranch in the Big Horns he continued to create wherever his talents were needed. His rock work is legendary. fireplaces and rock walls in the area continue to attest to Freds aesthetic sense of balance and his knowledge of structure.
