Susan Forshee
Originally from Southern California, Craig and I retired in 2006. After a few years of traveling, we decided to vacate California and move to Buffalo, Wyoming, in 2009. For seven months we lived in a fifth wheel (during winter) while our house was being built. In March 2010, we finally moved into our dream home with a million dollar view of the Bighorn Mountains.
In the early winter of 2011, I enrolled in pottery and acrylic painting classes instructed by local artists. I got hooked on both mediums, but my love of creating with my hands is my passion. I received encouragement by other local potters to continue pursuing pottery and eventually sell my pieces. My pottery has a whimsical flair and I enjoy the challenges involved in creating pieces from simple lumps of clay either on the wheel or hand built. Every day is a learning experience, whether achieving a successful result or not.
On a clear beautiful day, I will sit on my porch viewing the mountains or work in my garden to gather inspiration for my next clay project. My best success is the friendships I have been blessed with, not only from the artist community, but in Buffalo.
