The Story of the Granny Jars

The idea for the Granny Jars came up while camping with my grandchildren in Wyoming's Bighorn Mountains. The kids would come running with tiny fists clutching tiny handfuls of wildflowers. It soon became apparent that a plastic picnic cup would not work on a windy Wyoming day. I needed something fairly short, sturdy, windproof on a picnic table, easy to store in our camper, whimsical enough for a child's imagination and must be both beautiful and functional - thus Granny Jars.

They can serve many purposes: flowers, colorful stick candies, pencils, etc. They are a great gift for a child to give a Grandma (or Mom, teacher, Aunt, etc.)

They can even make a bunch of weeds become a beautiful flower arrangement when they are a gift from the hands of a child.

Enjoy!
