Katy Sestay
Western-Rooted Art and Design
HELLO THERE!My name is Katy Sestay, and I am the artist and designer behind Loose Cinch. I currently live and create in Sheridan, Wyoming.
I’m not sure what came first, my love of horses or my love of art. I grew up in the high desert of California on a small horse ranch, spending my days riding and rodeoing. Like many horse-crazy girls, I began attempting to draw these creatures I surrounded myself with and never looked back. This love for the world of the West, and for the animals and people within it, continues to guide my work.
In 2016, I moved to Montana to attend Montana State University, where I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts. During that time, I continued to develop my focus, creating artwork and designs rooted in ranching, agriculture, and Western life.
Creativity has never been something I can keep contained. I am a screen printer, photographer, oil painter, logo designer, doodler, and digital artist. The mediums may change, but the goal stays the same: to capture the elusive essence of the West.
Loose Cinch is my way of sharing that lifelong connection and exploration. Every piece I make is rooted in real places, hard work, and lived stories. I am grateful you are here and that my work gets to be part of your space, your wardrobe, your business, or your everyday life.
