So This is the result after 3 years of living on plywood floors, an old orange counter top, no dish washer and a lousy sink.....but the good part is that we had this unusually large space to work with....all things are possible with a little patience and waiting for sales. Chris found the two Grohe faucets (German made), 2 under mount insulated 16 gauge (note:hard to find that quality at any big box store) stainless sinks (franke) ....all high end fixtures for only 800.00 total. He found them on the Houzz app.
So many ways to get real quality at the same cost as cheaper versions with plastic workings.....no one should have to compromise on cheap faucets. The one tool in your home you will use countless times each day.
I'll share my thoughts on handles and knobs next time....always about saving money in the right areas so you can have what you really want
When we bought our home we didn't realize that behind all the old paper sheetrock was hewn logs everywhere and 20 foot long 2 x 12 boards on the ceiliings, which were supported by Even larger beams. The original construction was covered over by ceiling tiles and layers of bad drywall, paint and paper. After much uncovering we are finally near the end.
I will have used over 500 ft of backer rod (a foam type rope that is used to fill large gaps before caulking) and many cases of paintable caulking. I'm so grateful for my painters scaffold and lots of experience painting ceilings.
I painted this dart on the wall next to a real dart board in a sports room. This was a final touch after a week of painting various sports related images
